You are new here and I have forgotten your name. You didn’t runaway like the other kids. You were left to die by your older brothers. They said you were a nuisance and threw you out. The kids around us point at you. They scream, Hindu, Hindu! You stay quiet. I am not sure what to say. You continue your story. You don’t have a mother or a father. You live with your aunt who does “number two work.” I’m not sure what that means.

“Men come and go from her room.”

Now I understand. You start crying because the kids here hit you and make fun of you. You want to go back home. I take a picture of you with my camera.

“I’ll give you a copy of the photo.” Is all I say.

You walk away and I continue taking photos.

Two days later, I sit in Sadr trying to get a problem fixed with my camera. I forget my place in the film roll and take a snap over your photo. Of course, I don’t realize this till I get the developed roll.

I speak to you now in a language you don’t understand, on a website you have no access to in hopes of figuring out a way to tell you that I messed up. I will come back to take a better photo. I will ask your name again and will promise to not forget it.

I never really wrote anything to this blog. I feel it needs a more personalized touch, since it was occasionally a picture of a song. I started this blog as a means to just broadcast what I enjoyed, and it did just that. I used to post a bunch because well... I was unemployed for a bit, but now I work at this amazing center, helping kids in my part of Los Angeles. Located right in the middle of south central, this center helps keep kids off the streets and provides various outlets for kids. I have the privilege of basically teaching Math and English to these kids. It's always different and that's what makes it an amazing job.

Ive been working on some projects for a few friends, but iv'e decided to keep it a secret from them. no sense in spoiling it for them by having them see the whole process. I can say that a new canvas is being made and also a new skateboard is in the works. Ive also decided to customize a road bike, but the specifics to that have yet to be finished. Also, a daft punk helmet has been in production since the beginning of the year, but has been a hassle since it requires a lot of work with plastic vacuuming and stuff. I think I become to ambitious during certain parts of the year and then when everything becomes a chore I stop, because I don't want it to be work but rather something I enjoy, and can eventually give away to my friends. People always tell me to sell my stuff, but as a friend recently told me, thats not the point of art. I could get into this deep conversation about that subject, but thats whole different post.

Ive encountered my share of problems recently, personally.... I became someone I truly wasn't and it got me into this huge clusterfuck of a mess. Feelings were hurt, and I feel super fucked up for what I did. Those people most likely hate me now, but thats what happens when you're not yourself. I went out with some friends and pushed myself away from it all. Realized that all my problems were being created by one person, that person being me. I had to handle some demons I had, because they were getting the best of me. During this period, there was this person I had known for a while, we would occasionally hang out. We drove around town at 2 am in the morning on saturdays, not really giving a fuck where we would go. We had a rule that we would do this only every 3 months. This person reminded me of what I once was, and what I had lost. She revitalized and stabilized me.

Everyone has demons, and we may try to deny it, but we all do. They may be small or big, but just deal with them. I still have mine, and I know it will be a while before they leave me, but thats just it. I know i have to live with them, so i have to deal. The key is to know you have them, and to not let them get the best of you. I write all this to remind me this. I dont care if you know I have them, i dont consider myself better than anyone so i dont care if people know my weaknesses. Im Fragile, we all are. I deliver myself to the world as I am. Nothing more.

Lost In Translation

Few movies ever get this right, but Lost In Translation made me fall in love with it. I would marry it if I Could. Everything from the actors to the location, I instantly adored. Sofia Copolla captured the culture shock, Existential boredom, and loneliness these two felt in such a lush and beautiful city. Most of my friends either fall asleep or think its a bit too boring and lose interest in this movie, but for me I cant look away because I might miss some of the little things that made me fall in love with it. Bill Murray, as you all know is my hero, and in this movie made a leap into a more dramatic setting and he managed to do it fantastically. I really cant describe the feelings I have towards this movie other than saying It's My Favorite Movie Ever and I know no other movie will ever topple it.

I was extremely bored today, and since I didn't have to be anywhere, I decided to take a trip to some of my favorite places around town. Using the Metro of course. And thankfully my homie Janice came along for the trip.

The Chinatown Metro stop Is Amazing

I really enjoy Chinatown because its so Dreary and Quiet..

..and the Galleries! I couldnt take pics because they didnt allow it. But I snuck in this pic because these dudes look awesome.

So then I Decided to hop back on the metro and Visit La Placita Olvera. Oh man, I was telling my friend that it felt good to see so many people in this place because you see the appreciation my culture gets. They love Our Food, they love our Art.

and apparently they love our music. People were getting down to "La Cucaracha".

We then Decided it we should go to Little Tokyo, but first we had to cross the ol' 101.

When we got there we visited a few shops. First rif, which had the new Tan/Pink Yeezys in. Then We copped some sweet bean pancake looking deals, and then some Pork and Veggie Buns. I think Jan liked them. Im not entirely sure.

Also Popkiller. which carries my favorite t-shirts in all of L.A.

Always awesome to see the Shuttle.
